General Statement of Duties: Development Intern

About the position: 

We are looking for a Development Intern to join our Development Team and support our efforts to secure funding to help our organization operate throughout the year. The Development Intern will be responsible for several projects, both short and long term, to support the Development Manager and Communications Team, as well as a few recurring tasks. 

Reports to: Development Manager 

Work Schedule: Part-time 20 hours. Schedule may include weekends and evenings as needed. Work Location: Hybrid 

Salary: $750 every two weeks 

TransPonder determines starting pay based on relevant education and experience as provided by the applicant in their application materials. This process is consistent with the Oregon Equal Pay Act (OEPA). 

Examples of Duties Performed – Duties may include but are not limited to the following: 

KEY PROJECTS 

  • SOCIAL MEDIA ASSET MANAGEMENT 

○ Setup Canva account and teams 

○ Migrate all social media assets to Canva 

○ Organize all Canva assets 

○ Compile all social media captions, hashtags, etc. into centralized document 

○ Update Special Day post list 

○ Create Social Media posting schedule 

  • CONSTITUENT UPDATE 

○ Cleanup records in Donor Management software 

○ Contact all constituents to get updated and complete information 

○ Assess custom fields needs related to pronouns, names, etc. 

  • DEVELOPMENT ASSET MANAGEMENT 

○ Create gratitude mailing templates (emails, cards, letters, etc.) 

○ Create Intro packets for donors and sponsors

○ Put together Pledge reward packets 

  • PROTOCOL DEVELOPMENT 

○ Develop protocols for daily, weekly, monthly tasks within the Development and Communication teams 

ONGOING TASKS: 

  • Weekly check-in with other teams about social media needs 
  • Monthly donor newsletter 
  • Updates to TransPonder Happenings template, as needed

Looking for experience in communication, community engagement, development, and fundraising. 

Training: 

Minimum High School Diploma.
