Position Type: Full-Time, Exempt

Reports to: Executive Director

Location: Eugene, Oregon (hybrid work options available)

Wage: $60,000 – $68,280 annually, DOE

Position Summary

The Finance & Operations Director will be pivotal in enhancing TransPonder’s financial management, operational infrastructure, and program scalability. This position supports the organization’s growth and sustainability by streamlining financial processes, improving operational workflows, and ensuring compliance with nonprofit regulations. The ideal candidate is a dynamic leader with a strong background in nonprofit operations, financial management, and strategic planning.

This position reports directly to the Executive Directors and is part of TransPonder’s Executive Leadership. It requires strong skills in finance and implementing operations processes for TransPonder.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Accountability

  • Oversee financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director to develop and implement a comprehensive financial plan for the next 3 to 5 years.
  • Ensure compliance with nonprofit financial regulations and best practices.
  • Collaborate with the financial consultant to transition QuickBooks and improve financial reporting systems.
  • Collaborate with the Development Director to develop and execute a plan with clear milestones.

Operational Efficiency & Program Scalability

  • Maintain transparency and accountability through regular audits and community reports.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director to optimize operational workflows to enhance staff efficiency and resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with the Development & Communications Director to create systems to support program scalability and increase community reach.
  • Collaborate with the executive team to develop a financial sustainability plan, including diversified funding sources.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Supervise and support administrative staff to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Work closely with the Executive Director and leadership team to identify opportunities for growth and innovation.
  • Foster a culture of equity, inclusion, and continuous improvement within the organization.
  • Represent TransPonder in community and partner meetings to strengthen external relationships.
  • Actively participate in the TransPonder Leadership Team and as a member of the Executive Team.

Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience

  • 1+ years experience in nonprofit financial or operations management.
  • 1+ years experience in supervising, supporting, and holding accountable team members.
  • Strong knowledge of nonprofit financial systems, budgeting, and compliance.
  • Ability to design and implement efficient operational systems.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with a commitment to equity and inclusion.
  • Experience working with LGBTQIA2+ organizations or underserved communities
  • Proficient in QuickBooks.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • 2+ years experience working with members of the LGBTQ2SIA+ or other underrepresented communities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, Finance, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Knowledge of grant reporting and diversified funding strategies.

  • Master’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
  • Certification in nonprofit financial management or operations (e.g., CNAP, PMP).
