🗂️ Need help with legal name and gender changes? TransPonder offers trans and gender-diverse Oregonians of all ages financial assistance for legal ID changes and helps folks with paperwork. This includes help with birth certificates, driver’s licenses, Real IDs, passports, and DMV identifications. We can’t offer legal advice, but we can share legal resources.

We are currently not providing financial assistance to updates to the gender marker on a US passport. This is due to the changing federal policy and rising evidence that the US Department of State is confiscating supporting documentation for requests to amend the gender marker.

There are still a lot of unknown factors (i.e. what if it’s your first passport, what if all your supporting documentation includes your new name and gender marker, what if you’re renewing a passport that has already been amended, what if you’re just amending your name, etc.). We are continuing to monitor the situation and will update this page of our website as it develops.

If you are still interested in applying for an amended passport, please select it from the options of the form linked above. We will reach out to help you determine the best course of action for your situation.

Please call ‪541-321-0872; or email info@transponderoregon.org with any questions.
