Max is a Jewish queer transman, born and raised in Lviv, Ukraine. He immigrated to the US with his family when he was 13. He finished growing up in Chicago, where he attended a Jewish religious high school. Max is a triple graduate from the University of Oregon with a BA, MS, and PhD. He was a software engineer for ten+ years and then a teacher at a Eugene public alternative high school for a decade. Max is now a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Washington, researching Computer Science teacher learning. He is also an adjunct professor at the University of Oregon, in the Education Studies department. Outside of work and volunteering, he is a parent of a human and a dog, a gardener, a lover of cooking, music, tabletop games, and an avid walker…
