Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program

Event Details

Are you ready to tackle tax season without breaking the bank? Look no further! The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, led by passionate University of Oregon students and supervised by the IRS, is here to provide FREE tax help to individuals and families in our beautiful city!

What is VITA?

VITA is a nationwide initiative to assist low to moderate-income individuals with their tax preparation. Our UO students are trained and certified by the IRS to ensure accuracy and compliance with tax laws.

Who can benefit?

If your household income is $64,000 or less, you are a person with disabilities, or you are in a Limited English Proficiency household, we’re here for you! Whether you’re a student, professional, or retiree, our friendly volunteers are ready to guide you through the process.

Location:

Visit us at the Lillis Business Complex, conveniently located on the University Campus in the heart of Eugene.

Please see below for our current dates of operations:

  • February 2024: 10th, 17th, 24th
  • March 2024: 2nd, 9th
  • April 2024: 6th: 13th

We will begin taking clients in at 11 am and stop taking new clients at 2 pm. We take clients on a first-come, first-serve basis to maximize the help we provide, so no appointments are available.

If you are interested in our services, please fill out the following client intake form so we can properly project the staff we have on hand to help that day! Please note, by filling out this form, you are not guaranteed a spot on preparation day—this is merely to help our management team correctly staff our roster for that day.
