Our Trans Community Support Group meets on Zoom this week

Connected Lane County PAID Training:

Youth Support Excelerator

What:

The Youth Support Excelerator guides youth through a forty-hour Oregon Health Authority (OHA) approved training for Youth Support Specialists, youth 17+, that is specifically tailored to fit the needs of youth and young adult peer support providers. Our Excelerators prepare young people for work through accelerated education, training, and application of skills. This training provides participants with a comprehensive introduction to peer work and includes a variety of support methods that center on the lived experiences of the peer. Those who complete this training are able to register with the state of Oregon as certified Youth Support Specialists (YSS).

  • No professional experience is required, however, lived experience with mental health, addiction, or overcoming life challenges unique to youth and young adults is important.
  • Food will be provided at all trainings.
  • Gas cards are available upon request.

June 20-24…APPLICATIONS DUE APRIL 21

Where:

Spark at Booth-Kelly (303 S. 5th Street #150, Springfield, OR)

Who:

All youth/young adults ages 17-24…no experience required

THIS IS A PAID POSITION…$16.50 PER HOUR

There are yoga mats available.

Check in at the office, and they’ll show you the way to Classroom #61. You do not have to be a student at Bethel SD or WHS to attend the class!

Where: In person (Sheldon Community Center) and virtual (Zoom)

Join us on Wednesdays @ 7p PT for a trans/gender-diverse yoga class. We are now offering yoga in person and virtual (at the same time).

To join us in person, meet us at Sheldon Community Center (2445 Willakenzie Rd, Eugene) in the Hazelnut Room. There will be someone at the front desk who can direct you. We’ll have mats, blocks, straps, chairs, and bands available.

What: Queer, Trans & Disability Support Group
When: Thursdays @ 6p
Who: Queer & trans people who are disabled, ages 13+
Where: Online on Google Meet
FREE

The group is open to all LGBTQIA people, including trans, nonbinary, questioning, and gender-diverse folks, ages 13+. This is a space where queer and trans people with disabilities can chat about their experiences, discuss chosen topics, and share resources and validation.
