EUG PRIDE 2024 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Want to get involved for Eugene’s Pride 2024?🌈

Help us promote awareness of the services TransPonder provides, engage with the community at our crafts table, and celebrate Pride!

Where?  Alton Baker Park 200 Day Island Rd, Eugene, OR 97401 / August 10th 2024 / 10:00AM-7:00PM (Volunteer positions will be 2 hours slots)

PARKING AT ALTON BAKER PARK IS RESERVED FOR ADA & 4+ CARPOOLS ONLY

ALL car parking onsite at Pride is reserved for people with disabilities, disabled people and those carpooling with 4 or more people in the vehicle. If that’s not you, there are many other options for getting to Pride— including some other car parking lots you can park at and then walk or take bike share a short distance to Pride.

Wed, Jul 31: WE/US/OURS SOCIAL HOUR

What: A (happy) social hour
When: Every last Wednesday @ 6-8p
Who: Trans and gender diverse folks, LGBTQIA folks, and allies welcome
Where: Public House, Springfield, OR

Join HIV Alliance & TransPonder for our monthly social gathering for trans, nonbinary, gender diverse, and questioning folks, and allies. This is your opportunity to meet new folks in the area, hang out in good company, and get to know each other in a relaxed social setting. (The event is at a wine tasting venue and people will be drinking alcohol.)

We/Us/Ours is lightly facilitated by TransPonder and HIV Alliance. HIV Alliance offers free injection supplies, including needles, syringes, sharps containers, and alcohol pads. They can also pick up your used sharps containers.

Wed, Jul 31: GENDER DIVERSE YOGA

Who: Trans/gender-diverse folks, ages 13+
Where: In person (Sheldon Community Center) & virtual (Google Meet)

Join us on Wednesdays @ 6p PT for a trans/gender-diverse yoga class at Sheldon Community Center (2445 Willakenzie Rd, Eugene) in the Hazelnut Room. There will be someone at the front desk who can direct you. We’ll have mats, blocks, straps, chairs, and bands available.

Thurs, Aug 1: QUEER, TRANS, & DISIBILITY GROUP

What: A support group for people who are queer or trans and are disabled
When: Thursdays @ 7-8p PT; see our website for dates
Who: Queer & trans people who are disabled, ages 13+
Where: Online on Google Meet
FREE

The group is open to all LGBTQIA people, including trans, nonbinary, questioning, and gender-diverse folks, ages 13+. This is a space where queer and trans people with disabilities can chat about their experiences, discuss chosen topics, and share resources and validation. Email info@transponder.community for the event link.

Sat, Aug 3: TRANS & ALLIES SOCIAL HOUR

When: Every 1st Saturday @ 10a – 12p
Who: All ages, everyone welcome, including all LGBTQIA people and allies

Socialize with other LGBTQIA folks in public setting over coffee! All LGBTQIA people and allies welcome–bring your families and friends! (Youth ages 13 and younger require a guardian.) Free parking in the Parcade on Charnelton St.
