Announcements: TransParent Support and Trans Community Support group meet in person this week!

JOB SKILLS PROGRAM ANNOUNCEMENT

Introducing our new Job Skills program in partnership with Trillium Community Health Plan.

We are excited to offer job search assistance, skill-building workshops, internship opportunities, interview clothing assistance, ID change assistance, and employment navigation to our community members.

PRIDE NIGHT AT PK PARK

What: Come celebrate pride at the Eugene Emeralds game! There will be booths from great groups, activities for kids, and a great night of baseball supporting local LGBTQ organizations.
When: Thursday, June 13th at 6:30 PM
Where: PK park (2760 Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, Eugene)
Who: Everyone!
$12 per ticket (50% goes to TransPonder)

LCC JOB FAIR

Come see us at the Lane Community College 2024 Job Fair on Thursday, May 16 from 1-4 p.m.

Connect with local and regional employers who are hiring for full-time, part-time, and seasonal positions.

There’s no need to register, just show up! Join us in the lobby of Building 19 (see campus map). Parking is free!

We will be there to discuss paid internship opportunities at TransPonder: explore career paths and gain experience in roles like Outreach, Social Media, Development, IT or programs hosted at the Queer Resource Center.

MINDER MONDAY

Join us at Krismatic every first Monday of each month a queer safe space for gender-affirming self-care, education, services, and community.

Krismatic providers will discount their services or offer donation-based services for our LGBTQIA+ community; donations will be given to Transponder. They will hold a clothing swap, education on hair, skin, and nails, and more.

Krismatic is passionate about helping our neighbors express themselves and feel comfortable in their skin and looks forward to continuing to build community.

Tues, May 7: BOOK CLUB

Who: All ages, sexualities, genders, and experience levels welcome (ages 14 and under must have a guardian present).

Join us on Wednesdays @ 6p PT for a family-friendly yoga class at Sheldon Community Center (2445 Willakenzie Rd, Eugene) in the Hazelnut Room. There will be someone at the front desk who can direct you. We’ll have mats, blocks, straps, chairs, and bands available.

This class is made possible by a grant from First Congregational United Church of Christ, Comunidad y Herencia Cultural, and Eugene Arte Latino, and a partnership with the City of Eugene.⁠

What: A support group for people who are queer or trans and are disabled
When: Thursdays @ 7-8p PT; see our website for dates
Who: Queer & trans people who are disabled, ages 13+
Where: Online on Google Meet
FREE

The group is open to all LGBTQIA people, including trans, nonbinary, questioning, and gender-diverse folks, ages 13+. This is a space where queer and trans people with disabilities can chat about their experiences, discuss chosen topics, and share resources and validation. Join our support group for parents and guardians of trans and gender diverse children. This is a great place to get resources, talk about the current political environment for trans youth, and gather in community and support.
