REFLECTIONS ON THE ELECTION
As we process the results of Tuesday’s election and look ahead to the next four years, TransPonder reaffirms its commitment to supporting a fair and inclusive society where every voice matters.
We know that our community is scared; scared for the future of reproductive rights, LGBTQIA2S+ protections, and the future of social justice as a whole. The new administration has the potential to shape both our nation and global politics, and we understand the outrage and fear that many of us feel.
Please know that the TransPonder team will be here for you.
We are dedicated to the flourishing of our vibrant community. While we may not have the power to change outcomes, our commitment to providing support, resources, and advocacy remains unwavering.
If you have any TQBIPOC individuals in your life, please make sure to offer them support and acknowledgment during this challenging time. It’s important for us to know that we are not alone.
We recognize that this process can bring anxiety, dread, and anguish—not just for our community, but for our staff as well. Like everyone else, we are navigating this difficult time and we appreciate your patience. Additionally, following our recent transition to The Lavender Network, we are experiencing a backlog of emails and requests. We want to reassure you that every person reaching out to us is important. Although responses may take some time, we are committed to addressing emails as quickly as possible.
In the coming weeks, we will continue to communicate with our community about the ways in which we can all support each other. Together, we can shape an inclusive, affirming, and just future for all.
In solidarity,
Emz Avalos, Interim Executive Director
and the whole TransPonder Team
